May is a quiet month here, one of our driest as sea breezes suppress and push away convection, and fronts lose their push. May and September are probably the best months to visit here---the weather is warm but not too hot yet (usually).
April was hot and dry,
Temperature 3.9 degrees above normal.
Rain 0.82" below normal.
So the drought continues. More than 60" below normal since Jan 1, 2006
Rainfall YTD is 5.00" below normal as of April 30. Rainfall was 0.54" lower than last year, YTD. Last year was our driest in history.
My model forecast. Still dry as you can see!
